Day of Mourning 2022

Each year on April 28th we remember those who’ve fallen sick, become injured and died due to workplace hazards. We recommit ourselves to doing everything we can to prevent further work-related injury, illness and death.
This year, the Sudbury & District Labour Council and CROSH are co-hosting an in-person ceremony at Laurentian University to recognize the Day of Mourning, as follows…
When: Thursday, April 28, 2022, 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Where: Laurentian University, Fraser Auditorium, free parking
** At this time, Laurentian University’s vaccine and mask mandate will continue to be in effect. Social distancing inside the auditorium is also recommended.
*** Unions – please being WREATHS to display on-stage and at the flag-lowering ceremony.
**** We ask that you have your children participate in our Day of Mourning colouring contest. Here’s where you’ll find the colouring pages.
This gives you an opportunity to talk to your children about work, and the importance of staying safe while you do your jobs. Please submit completed colouring pages, including your child’s name and phone number, either…

*** Prizes will be distributed after the winners are chosen, subsequent to the event.
